Backflow Prevention
When water enters your business premises or home irrigation system, it should only ever flow in one direction. Sometimes due to pressure changes, water can flow backwards and into the main water supply. This is known as backflow. Backflow can cause fresh water to become contaminated with harmful bacteria and chemicals and can be a serious health risk. A backflow preventer is a device that’s installed in your water pipes that allows water to flow one way and never the other. At McDermond, we have IQP-certified tradespeople who can install, maintain and certify your backflow prevention solution. This is required annually by Council.
